A big and boisterous new single singes the speakers today from longtime favorite Ty Segall. The band was in fine form on this past US tour, sinking their teeth into old favorites, while also previewing some of this new material. “Black Paint” bounds into view on big pop choruses and dose of fuzz rumble. A perfect storm of froth, fury, and feedback, the new cut slides right into the Segall canon with the best of ‘em. The new album comes complete with a counterpoint EP that slows the pace to a dirge, ushering in clouds of doom that provide a distorted mirror to the pop mayhem on Chrome. Both Chrome and the companion EP, Love Fuzzz, are out August 28th from Drag City.
