BRIAR – “Silver”

A live video ushers in a new single from BRIAR, the new folk collective from members of Daniel Romano’s Outfit. The second single solidifies the potent mix of influences on the new record. Musically linked to the kind of autumnal ‘60s fare that finds listeners returning again and again each year to Fotheringay, Fairport, and Trees, there’s also a touch of California winds in the harmonies on “Silver.” Though, this one might land closest to Pentangle. The band wraps the seeds of jazz through their folk forms, feeling like they may have spent some quality time with the band’s catalog. A quiet air settles over the video catching Fall’s chill as BRIAR settles into the air away from the speakers. The band’s debut, Aeterna Memoria, is out October 30th.
