An itchy, insistent cut from Baltimore’s Crying Laughing puts the band’s new record for Hausu Mountain quickly into the queue of records to watch for 2026. Chopped and snipped, wracked with a sense of rhythm that brings to mind Horse Lords and SML, the band’s new single “Ricemeat” rankles in all the right ways. The cut crimps and curls through the speakers, a discomfiting vision of jazz, post-punk, and post-rock riffs. Their new album, Talking, descends to tangle through the twisted ends of ’26 on September 10th.
