Charles Rumback – “Two Kinds of Camouflage”

Just catching up on this one, but it’s well worth a note. Charles Rumback is no stranger to the site. The drummer and bandleader has shown up with Ryley Walker, Black Duck, Elijah McLaughlin and more. He’s back at the helm this year, with two of his most ardent collaborators in tow. Jim Baker and John Tate have rounded out a trio with Rumback for some time and they anchor the new album, Cartoons, out at the end of the week. The band also gets some guitar grace from longtime RSTB fave Jeff Parker. The latter lights up the first single from the record, “Two Kinds of Camoflauge,” a winding, candle-bright gem from the band that winds its way past the eight-minute mark. The song helps open up the first half of the band’s new record, a dynamic new set that’s out October 30th from Cloud Ear Records.
