The Cat’s Miaow – “Journey’s End”

I love a good dose of getting what’s due. Following a lovely compilation of their early works and singles dating back to the early ‘90s, Australian indie pop outfit The Cat’s Miaow announce their proper debut for Lost and Lonesome and Slumberland Records. The first single finds the band still submerged in the soft touches and tender turns that made their singles such a sought out commodity for years. “Journey’s End” lilts on easy jangles, and the pillow-soft delivery of Kerrie Bolton. The cut radiates warmth, filled with sunlight filtered through the leaves. The band’s scant catalog left many wanting for years and it’s great to see them finally get the platform they deserve. The new album, When You Smiled And Turned Away, is out October 23rd from Lost and Lonesome / Slumberland.
