Yr Knives – “Stretch Bath”

It’s great to hear more from this highly anticipated debut from Yr Knives. The Chicago band features members of Tortoise, BASIC, Health and Beauty, Wild Bell, and Hanami and they bring all that experience to their debut, Begin Yr Singing. I posted an early, live version of “Stretch Bath” from the band’s tour CD a while back, but on tape the cut gains a heaviness and headiness that explores the full bounds of the studio. Opening with a crash of drums, the band pushes into tensile shards of guitar before they seethe and swell with an oceanic force. The cut sits center on their new album, out October 30th from Western Vinyl.
