RIBS – “Not A Boogie”
by Andy
A serrated salvo is let loose today from Raleigh’s RIBS. Shredded, shivved, and shaken, the band’s sound is rooted in a muscular punk vision that’s got as much punch in the lyrics as it does in its rhytmic swipe at the sternum. “Not A Boogie” launches itself onto the speakers without reservation, holding nothing in check and nothing hidden from view. With Mike Wallace’s speak-sung vocals and the band’s diesel-drunk engine of rhythm at its core, the cut sets up the band’s sophomore album as a powerhouse for 2026. The band finds their way onto NC favorites Three Lobed, a lit match among their already sterling stable. The new album, Cold Ribs, is out August 21st.
