Jeffrey Alexander & The Heavy Lidders – “Critical Masses”

A second single winds out of the upcoming new record from Jeffrey Alexander and the Heavy Lidders. With a nocturnal creep, the song trades between slither and scorch, marked by fluid guitar lines that creep through the creosote. With Verrastro’s steady beat behind them the band opens “Critical Masses” up to the slippery stitches between psych and jazz. As the song crests to close, saxophonist Tacuma Bradley (San Kazakgascar Improvised Trio, Unity Band) lacquers a tempered trim over the band’s thrum. The new record, Liquid Donnon, is out June 12th from Feeding Tube and Riot Season.
