Woodwose – “Younger Animals”

The return of RSTB favorite label Language of Stone just keeps getting better this year. Following new works from Greg Weeks solo and his new duo with partner Jessica, Magus, this week sees a new record from Woodwose. The duo brings together Jessica Weeks (The Valerie Project) with Gillian Chadwick (Ex Reverie). Like the bulk of the return output from LoS, Woodwose dives deep into the woods of psychedelics. Digging through coven-folk, Woodsose twine Wicker Man wonders around cinder and soot guitar lines and hypnotic acoustic strums. First single, “Younger Animals,” haunts the speakers, a folk romp that pairs char with charm; their instrumental menace sparring with the duo’s vocal allure. The eponymous new album arrives July 24th from Language of Stone.
