The Yummy Fur – “Headphones”

Still catching up a bit this week, but I’ve been meaning to get something up on this one for a while. Revered ‘90s outfit The Yummy Fur returns with their first album in 25 years and it sounds like they’ve never missed a beat. Second single “Headphones” is a crimped pop romp that feels like it could have fit anywhere in the band’s outsized catalog; hitting the listener with a crooked smile and a shaky soul. Sliced with the wit and wobble of early Eno, the single is an existential examination that quivers through the speakers in classic Fur fashion. The band’s new album, Everybody Talks About the Weather, is out Sep 24th from Upset The Rhythm.
