Lou Turner – “Ants Underfoot”

A real treat this year to have both a new Styrofoam Winos record and now a new solo record on deck from the band’s Lou Turner. If you’ve caught The Roadhouse band on tour, then you have yourself a Turner trifecta. I recommend all three. The Nashville songwriter’s been a fixture around here and the first taste of her new album, Strangels is a verdant cool down fixed with flute trills, soft strums, and Lou’s painterly visions of uncertain times and an unbuttoning of the soul. The song opens up the new album with a a familiar dose of charm and a satisfying saunter. Lou’s new album, Strangels, is out November 6th from Spinster.
