Tomo Katsurada & Jonny Nash – “The Emerald Pool”

Post-Kikagaku Moyo, Tomo Katsurada seems to be a pretty busy guy. After collaborations with Misha Panfilov and Shoko Otake, he pairs with Jonny Nash (Melody As Truth) for a new album of bilious float. The pair turn guitars into a waking dream, weaving strums and slides over the soft crackle of ambient space. Their voices whisper somewhere between lullaby and secret, a private missive slipping through the wires and directly into the listener’s subconscious. A perfect pairing with some of the quieter moments from the Kikakagu Moyo catalog and another reason to keep an eye on everything that Tomo’s up to these days. The pair’s new album, At The Emerald Pool, is out July 2nd from Melody As Truth.
