The Goods – “Summer’s Almost Gone”

Always happy to see a new single from West Coast faves The Goods. This one cropped up last week but its just as fresh on a Monday. Packed with power pop charms and ‘90s college radio jangles, “Summer’s Almost Gone” pines for sunny skies even as the last few days of warmth slip away. The song’s core hides a larger lament for the past, not just hung on summer’s end, but aching for lost time as it dissipates with each new day; turning to memories that already seem a little faded. A bittersweet blur that’s hung on an unshakable chorus, the new single is the first taste of the band’s upcoming sophomore LP for Dandy Boy, Goodbye Summertime, out September 16th.
