Wayne Faler – “The Loon”
by Andy
A second single from Wayne Faler takes dreampop West, blending jangles with a blurred lens and a lick of pedal steel. “The Loon” reaches further into the fog bank than the first single, winding down ridges with a kind of ‘90s strum that might have found its way into a Chills song and letting it loose down an expanse of L.A. freeway. Sun dipped and dappled, the single feels like a kindred spirit to Eric Silverman, a heat-haze amalgam that comes on like Echo and the Highwaymen. Windows down for this one, there’s a taste for dry heat baked into the bones of “The Loon.” Faler’s new album, Foreword, is out November 13th from Curation Records.
