Portland’s Lila Jarzombek cues up a new album for Soft Abuse and it continues to map the stark transmissions she’s found within the dying star of the heart. Over a spare beat, Lila carves sequestered incantations into the tape, opening up to the new process of using a Tuscan 4-track rather than her usual route in digital. Her layered improvisations scratch out a slowly festering brand of pop; fogged and feral, prodded by electronic impulses. The song marches on into the dark corners, pulsing like a beacon, sighing all the way. The song slips into the latter half of her new album Peace Channel, out September 18th from Soft Abuse.
