The Tubs – “Who’s Gonna Love You Now”

Yesterday brought a few RSTB favorites back to the forefront, including perennial site standouts The Tubs. The band’s last two albums cemented their status as jangle-pop heroes for the 2020’s, deepening the well with a literate lean that touched on Richard Thomas, XTC, and the edges of Northern Soul. The band slipped the news that they’d signed to Merge with an unlikely cover of Metallica earlier in the Spring and they seal the announcement with word of a new album today for the label and a new single that’s dipped in their trademark jangle n’ jostle. The album also comes with a new player on the roster, adding fiddle player Chris Haigh to the mix. The new record, Hard Life, is out September 11th from Merge.
