One more sweet ‘60s ode from RSTB favorites The Mellons before the band’s new album descends next month. Album closer “Say Goodbye” layers harmonies on harmonies, topping up an orchestra of strums, bells, claps, and coos. It’s a fitting send off for the band’s ambitious new album, In Color. The record extends the psych-pop universe that they began on their sterling debut Introducing… This one should be slipped into the mix with new works from The Lemon Twigs, Uni Boys, and Magic Fig. The new album swings onto shelves June 19th, a perfect start to the summer.
