The Tubs – “Freak Mode”

The forecast for 2025 is looking up every day (musically at least) and this week news of a new album from The Tubs further proves the point. The band’s last album, Dead Meat, hardly left the speakers in 2022 and the new single finds the band continuing to mold folk forms into jangle pop gems. “Freak Mode” bounds out of the speakers on a storm of strums and drums before Owen ‘O’ Williams brings his quilted croon to the forefront, recalling a period of dating through grief. The band’s new album, Cotton Crown, a nod to Williams’ solo outfit of the same name, is out March 7th from Trouble In Mind.
