Swiftumz – “Never Impress”

Another great gush of indie pop out of Swiftumz in the run up to his latest ablum, Simply The Best. San Francisco has always been packed with pop, but Christopher McVicker has always been a bit of a well-kept secret in the scene, a name that’s familiar to the faithful and the fanatics. His bedroom bound gems feel confessional, fuzz-crusted curios, and the new record is packed with a new stash of wonders and brought to life with a garrison of friends — Kelley Stoltz, and members of The Aislers Set, The Bananas, and Dirty Ghosts.

Christopher gives a bit of insight to his new single and its shoe-centric video, “I have a lot of Nikes,” he notes. Not really high priced collectible ones but more off season sale ones. We wanted to showcase some of them with kind of a footloose intro, hoping someone in corporate sees the video and gives me a hookup.  There are some guest feet in this also. This song was written for the album by my close friend and bandmate Marie Davenport and recorded at Alicia Vanden Heuvel’s (The Aislers Set, Magic Trick) house (you can hear her faint backing vocals at the end)” The new album is out June 14th from Empty Cellar.
