Luke Schneider, Marisa Anderson, and Kyle Hamlett in Across The Horizon Series

I’ve been remiss in mentioning this new series from SUSS’ Bob Holmes and Northern Spy Records. Across The Horizon brings together musicians that fall in the tributaries to Ambient Country. Inspired by Bob’s podcast about the genre, Across The Horizon finds a series of artists curating installments of a new singles series. The first was headed up by Mark Nelson (Labradford, Pan•American) and now the label has a second batch out today with RSTB fave Luke Schneider at the helm. Luke’s curated picks find him solo and in collaboration with Marisa Anderson. The set is rounded out with a new piece by Kyle Hamlett Duo (Kyle and Luke). All three pieces are streaked with a pastoral air, perfect for the onset of Autumn across the country.

Future installments of the series will find Dave Harrington (The Darkside, Alanis Morisette), Walt McClements, David Moore (Bing & Ruth, Cowboy Sadness) and William Tyler at the rudder. The series can be purchased as a subscription or as individual tracks, culminating in a double vinyl album and risograph zine available exclusively to Bandcamp subscribers of the series.
